Blackberry Tracker

I recently wrote a web application that works with Blackberry devices that have GPS on them. The web application lets you track the location of the phone as well as view history of where you have been. Check it out. http://bb.tech9computers.com

  1. I recently downloaded your program on to my 8800, and signed up on your site, but I seem to be having a problem loading the program on my phone. When I try to log in, it says unable to log in at thi stime. Open tunnel – failure.

Am I doing something wrong, or has the program been taken offline??

    Cheers,

    Martyn

  2. Check this thread out. I think it has to do with the TCP APN.

  5. Hi chris, I am having the same problem when I am loggin in .. the programs shows a logging you in …. ” message but never get logged. I am in Colombia, using COMCEL carrier … I have changed the APN to wap.voicestream.com , but it does not work either… Do you have any idea how to fix it?

Can you please give me your email, I would like about business oportiunities with you ..

    Best regards.

  6. Try these settings..

    - Service Provider: Comcel 3GSM
    - APN: wap.comcel.com.co
    - Username: COMCELWAP
    - Password COMCELWAP

If that doesn’t work just call comcel and ask them what the TCP/WAP apn is.

  7. Hi Chris,

Also using blackberry tracker, on Rogers Network in Canada, but seems to freeze at the logon.

    Thanks,

  8. Hi Chris,

Do I need a data plan to use this. There is however a Unlimited On-Device Mobile Browsing Plan, would that be sufficient to run your applet without acquiring data usage fees
I am with Rogers, and unfourtantly a 4MB data plan starts $45 and 200MB = $100/month so ya :( I cant even use my built in GPS cuz of the pricing.

You will need a data plan to use Blackberry Tracker. I’m not sure if the On-Device Mobile Browsing Plan would work with it though. Basically it needs to allow you to do more than WAP browsing(TCP connections). The amount of data transferred is pretty low, though.

  10. Hu Chris,

Excelent Blackeberry application, however I seem to have the same problem that some people describe, I live in Venezuela my provider is Movistar, i registered my account, I made the OTA installation on my Blackberry but I cant login, it just get stucked on the “Logging you in” message. I am using the APN: wap.movistar.ve I even tried for GPRS the APN: internet.movistar.ve, but I keep getting the same problem, any thoughts?
