[...] Today found this great post, here is a quick excerpt : You will need a data plan to use Blackberry Tracker. I’m not sure if the On-Device Mobile Browsing Plan would work with it though. Basically it needs to allow you to do more than WAP browsing(TCP connections). … Read the rest of this great post Here [...]

Hu Chris,

Excelent Blackeberry application, however I seem to have the same problem that some people describe, I live in Venezuela my provider is Movistar, i registered my account, I made the OTA installation on my Blackberry but I cant login, it just get stucked on the "Logging you in" message. I am using the APN: wap.movistar.ve I even tried for GPRS the APN: internet.movistar.ve, but I keep getting the same problem, any thoughts?
Thanks,

Geeshan -

You will need a data plan to use Blackberry Tracker. I'm not sure if the On-Device Mobile Browsing Plan would work with it though. Basically it needs to allow you to do more than WAP browsing(TCP connections). The amount of data transferred is pretty low, though.

Hi Chris,

Do I need a data plan to use this. There is however a Unlimited On-Device Mobile Browsing Plan, would that be sufficient to run your applet without acquiring data usage fees
I am with Rogers, and unfourtantly a 4MB data plan starts $45 and 200MB = $100/month so ya :( I cant even use my built in GPS cuz of the pricing.

Try these settings..

- Service Provider: Comcel 3GSM
- APN: wap.comcel.com.co
- Username: COMCELWAP
- Password COMCELWAP

If that doesn't work just call comcel and ask them what the TCP/WAP apn is.
